How to keep our souls strengthened in God

Are there moments in your life, you feel spiritually weak? Many are the things that cause us to be weak in life most especially our prayer life. The enemy uses many things to weaken your prayer life because he knows that when you pray you overcome and gain victory.

_Luke 22:39-46, Coming out, He went to the Mount of Olives, as He was accustomed, and His disciples also followed Him. 40 When He came to the place, He said to them, “Pray that you may not enter into temptation.” 41 And He was withdrawn from them about a stone’s throw, and He knelt down and prayed, 42 saying, “Father, if it is Your will, take this cup away from Me; nevertheless not My will, but Yours, be done.” 43 Then an angel appeared to Him from heaven, strengthening Him. 44 And being in agony, He prayed more earnestly. Then His sweat became like great drops of blood falling down to the ground.45 When He rose up from prayer and had come to His disciples, He found them sleeping from sorrow. 46 Then He said to them, “Why do you sleep? Rise and pray, lest you enter into temptation.”

In the above scripture, Jesus was encouraging His disciples to rise and pray that they may not fall into temptation. However, what was supposed to save them (praying) is what the devil first stole from them because of the sorrow they had in their lives.

Every man and woman go through the valley of weakness which creates the need of being strengthened and encouraged.  In such a difficult time you need your inner man to be strengthened.

In the book of 1Samuel 30:1-8, David and his men had gone for war on coming back they found when their city had been raided and their women and children were taken captive. The people cried and turned against David for all that happened. When David discovered that people had forsaken him, he strengthened himself in the Lord and inquired of the Lord.

Also in a time when Joshua was discouraged due to the death of Moses, the Lord encouraged him telling him to be courageous.
Joshua 1:6 Be strong and of good courage, for to this person you shall [a]divide as an inheritance the land which I swore to their fathers to give them

How can your inner man be strengthened
1.  Through hearing the voice of God. The voice of God confirms God’s presence in your life. This renews your strength in the Lord.
2.  Through the word of God. The word of God gives life. Hebrews 4:12,
Because the word of God is alive, it gives life to your inner man thus being strengthened. Some people’s words take away life but God’s word gives life. The word of God takes away fear, sorrow, worry, doubt, voices of condemnation, in one’s life.
3.  Through Prayer. In Luke 22:39, when Jesus was praying He was strengthened and empowered to face the cross which He was afraid of. Prayer gives and restores life. However painful it is, persist in prayer and you will stand again.
4.  Through seeking God. We need to spare time and seek God. _Psalm 105:4 Seek the Lord and His strength; Seek His face evermore!_
5.   Through Fellowshipping.
6.  Through the word of testimony.

We need to know that there are some things that can never strengthen us in the Lord. For example the ungodly friends, conversations, what we listen to, and what we see.  Perhaps they can be voices that are condemning you.
It’s my prayer that there be a voice that brings forth life in your inner man in Jesus’ name. 
We need to know that there are evil spirits, powers of witchcraft and sorcery that attack your prayer life thus weakening you. Your prayer life can be weakened through connections with false prophets or evil altars which attack your soul.
To some, the devil weakens you in prayer when he knows that your about to enter into another dimension in life.
