PR. KAMYA EMMANUEL
Worry is a shadow of deception that appears in one’s life. The devil uses worry to weaken people’s prayer life and faith and blind them from the truth.
When worry takes over, one starts believing in failure rather than success and people end up being frustrated by their lives and eventually are pushed into a life of darkness.
There are so many things that cause worry and we experience them daily. Many are worried about the future of their children, the doctor’s report, and their jobs among many others.
Mathew 6:25-34, Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature? “So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.
The world we are living in is and will always be filled with troubles that’s why Jesus cautioned us not to worry and showed us how deeply God cares for us.
Many things are out of our control but not God’s. God wants us to lift our eyes from the situation and look to Him who is able in all things. He knows our every need.
How you react to situations is what shows your level of maturity and determines whether you win or lose.
Worrying will never get you out of the situation but will keeping pulling down your prayer life yet prayer is what is meant to save your life.
Once you pray in worry, your prayers can’t be answered because it suffocates hope.
We mustn’t run away but we ought to learn how to overcome worry and know whom to lean on/ listen to in order to be able to go through the times of worry.
The kind of friends we keep will also influence how we respond when we are faced with worrying situations; if they are pessimistic then our response will also be negative but if they are optimistic then our response will be optimistic too.
Psalm 46:1-2, God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, Even though the earth be removed, And though the mountains are carried into the midst of the sea;
God isn’t worried about anything, He is ever-present so make Him your refuge in every situation and your worries will turn into testimonies.
When you trust God, He’ll become the ability to lift you up and take you to the next level
1 Peter 5:7, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.
