PR. KAMYA EMMANUEL
From the very beginning, the devil’s mission is to fulfill evil purposes in the lives of humanity which the bible speaks about in John 10:10a, The does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy.
Brethren it does not matter how many years you have spent in salvation, or the title you have, all that is not important, as long as you give the devil an opportunity he will fulfill his intentions in your life.
John 13:25 25 Leaning back against Jesus, he asked him, ‘Lord, who is it?’26 Jesus answered, ‘It is the one to whom I will give this piece of bread when I have dipped it in the dish.’ Then, dipping the piece of bread, he gave it to Judas, the son of Simon Iscariot. 27 As soon as Judas took the bread, Satan entered into him. So Jesus told him, ‘What you are about to do, do quickly.’ 28 But no one at the meal understood why Jesus said this to him. 29 Since Judas had charge of the money, some thought Jesus was telling him to buy what was needed for the festival or to give something to the poor. 30 As soon as Judas had taken the bread, he went out. And it was night.
The Bible brings to us Judas who the devil used to fulfill his evil intentions. Many people can ask themselves, Why did Jesus leave this man to fall into mistakes yet he could have helped him. We need to know that when we are in the house of the Lord, we are here to fulfill the scriptures.
Looking at things concerning Judas, he crossed with the evil character into ministry. Spending time in salvation minus changing, being delivered from the old character gives the devil chance to fulfill his evil intentions.
Acts 1:15, The scriptures speak that the one who first spoke about Judas was David. He spoke of the person who fulfills the scriptures in his evilness.
Though you spend years in the house of the Lord, minus accepting to bear fruits of repentance, all is in vain.
HOW DOES THE DEVIL ENTER OUR LIVES.
- Through one’s desires.
Judas Iscariot wanted to get possessions but in ways contrary to the ways of God. The moment he entered into sin, he opened the door for the enemy to fulfill his intentions in his life thus fulfilling the scriptures.
Brethren, today we all have needs in life that push us into working hard. However, we need to be careful with the needs we have in life that they may not land us in trouble. How? Through worry. Worry gives the enemy chance and opportunity to fulfill his evil intentions and capture our lives.
The needs we have are well known by God. God knows what we want even before we ask of him.
Mathew 6:8, 8 Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.
If God can take care of the lilies and the birds of the sky, clothe and beautify the grasses of the field, He knows you very well and will take care of you too.
Ministry starts from where one comes from. If you are a minister who is married, it is worthy for you that your marriage sees God through your actions. (1Timothy 3:5-7)
The enemy sets traps that we may fall into them because He wants to capture our lives.
To some, we have reached the extent of not just wanting money but loving it. This can turn into a trap the devil will use to capture our lives just like it was to Judas.
- Through the mind.
Judas’ mind was in possessions. You need to also look critically at what runs in your mind. Is your mind connected to Jesus Christ whom you believed? What do you think about when you are alone? Is your mind connected to what you speak on the outside?
When the enemy read the mind of Judas that it was never connected to the ministry and to Jesus, the enemy captured him. Child of God, if your mind is pulled to the devil’s side, you will fall into the devil’s trap thus fulfilling the scriptures.
- Through the life of sin. We did not get saved to just leave sin, but also completely neglect and reject it in our lives. The more sin is rooted in your life, the more it hinders your life from seeing God and reaching the promises of God.
- Through our character. You ought to be mindful of your character. Does your character reveal God or the devil? Your character reflects your inner man. When we get saved, our character changes. The beauty of your heart is revealed through your actions and character.
1 Samuel 16:7, 7 But the Lord said to Samuel, ‘Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.’
- Through what we see. Be mindful and careful of the things you watch or see.
- Through dedicated things. Be mindful of the dedicated things. Most especially those dedicated to the devil.
- Through deception. The power of the devil is in deception. It is through deception that the enemy fulfills his evil intentions in our lives. The devil also uses deception to entice a person to enter into sin and work through it. Brethren if you walk in a life of deceit, you empower the devil.
One of the things you should avoid in life is deception or lying. Let’s not fall into the trap of the devil through deception.
Brethren if you overcome deceit you will have overcome the devil.
