PR. KAMYA EMMANUEL
When Jesus taught his disciples how to pray, he taught them to pray for God’s will to be done on earth. Mathew 6:9-10, In this manner, therefore, pray: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. You will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
God seeks intercessors more than other people because they pray for others according to His will.
Our will can’t change our lives or overcome our battles. We are limited but God isn’t so we must pray in His will. Distinguish between praying and talking a lot; prayer must be directed and connected to the will of God.
Whenever you’re outside the truth which saved you, it doesn’t matter that you got saved (1 Timothy 2:3-5). Many people are saved but their character is still as that of the world but God wants us to be transformed and let the world see His truth in us.
Being silent under attack.
A person who is to pray in the will of God must know how God works. Learn to be silent from within. Our battles are not physical and thus we must lift up our spirits to where victory comes from. Our silence gives God a chance to do what we can’t do. Isaiah 36:21, But they held their peace and answered him not a word; for the king’s commandment was, “Do not answer him.”
In Isaiah 37:1-10, Hezekiah sent a message to Isaiah to lift up his prayer to the Lord and ask him to rebuke the words of the king of Assyria and Isaiah responded to Hezekiah as the Lord spoke to him.
Whenever you are silent, you start discerning the situation and voices in their truthfulness.
Don’t be moved or scared by people’s word but carry them before the Lord.
When we are silent, God gives us His Spirit who makes intercession for us and prays in the will of the Father.
Don’t try to fight any battle that God has been involved in, hide in Him and let Him do the fighting. Isaiah 37:6, And Isaiah said to them, “Thus you shall say to your master, ‘Thus says the Lord: “Do not be afraid of the words which you have heard, with which the servants of the king of Assyria have blasphemed Me.
Beware of the Spirit of rumourmongering
Isaiah 37:7, Surely I will send a spirit upon him, and he shall hear a rumour and return to his own land; and I will cause him to fall by the sword in his own land.”
Many people have succumbed to the spirit of rumormongering and unfortunately, even the church has fallen victim too. Many people have failed to pray and walk in the will of God because they have chosen to believe the words they have heard in gossip sessions.
Praying in the will of God will make the distinction between one in God’s power and one who’s in the power of sorcery.
Jeremiah 51:46, And lest your heart faint, And you fear for the rumour that will be heard in the land (A rumour will come one year, And after that, in another year A rumour will come, And violence in the land, Ruler against a ruler)
The Bible cautions us against being swayed by rumours in the world, many powerful people, leaders, marriages have been overthrown and destroyed by rumours.
Brethren in whatever you do, or decisions you make, don’t be inspired by rumours. God doesn’t dwell in rumours and he will never hear the prayer of those who delight in rumours.
You want God’s presence and power to manifest in your life; be delivered from rumormongering.
Rumours bring disaster in the church and destroy visions (Ezekiel 7:26)
Rumours sow hatred where there was love, disunity where unity was, and mistrust where trust was.
John 21:22-23, Jesus answered, ‘If I want him to remain alive until I return, what is that to you? You must follow me.’ Because of this, the rumour spread among the believers that this disciple would not die. But Jesus did not say that he would not die; he only said, ‘If I want him to remain alive until I return, what is that to you?’
Rumormongering hasn’t started today but it also was even amongst the early church.
Gossiping hinders other people from coming to Christ because they don’t see any difference between you and them.
Brethren as we seek to pray in the will of God, we must also overcome the spirit of rumourmongering.
God bless you.
