Satan is also known as the Devil, and sometimes also called Lucifer in Christianity. Satan is a powerful evil being who is the chief opponent of God and is seen as an agent subservient to God. He is the Prince of Darkness, Lord of the Flies, according to Luke 4:5-8 the devil is an adversary of God, a tempter of humankind: sometimes identified with Lucifer.
He is the accuser that is there to condemn a man but however much is against man, in Revelations 1:17-18 Jesus regained authority that the devil has snatched from him and in Romans 8:1-ff Paul confirms to us that we have no condemnation …..
“When I saw him, I fell at his feet as though dead. But he laid his right hand on me, saying, “Fear not, I am the first and the last, and the living one. I died, and behold I am alive forevermore, and I have the keys of Death and Hades…” (Revelation 1:17-18)
“There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death…” (Romans: 8:1-2)
Therefore, any voice that comes to you condemning you, just knows it’s not from God but from Satan. However, man has always failed to live up to the standards of God because in most cases the fresh has taken over the leadership of man over the soul.
Such practices as per Galatians 5:19, adultery, Fornication, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, fits of jealousy, wrath, factions, divisions, parties, envying, drunkenness, and revellings are clear examples that man is under the leadership of fresh.
We must also know that whoever is led by the fresh is led by the devil while one who is led by spirit is under God’s guidance.
Such factors have always sabotaged the breakthrough of many Christians, secondly, some Christians are too wicked and violent more than even the Pharisees.
Any remorseless actions are inspired by the devil and any Christians found in such actions are not led by the spirit. NB: The heathens know exactly what and how Christians must behave.
Those led by the flesh are condemned while those led by the spirit are not condemned. The power of influence that the devil uses is always found in the deed of the fresh.
Therefore, to be free from this accuser, you need to kill the fresh and yearn to do the doings of the spirit that will always promote you towards the presence of God.
Galatians 5:22, briefly explains to us the actions of the spirit such as; ‘love, joy, peace, long suffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, meekness, and self-control; against such, there is no law’
Having such fruits of the Holy Spirit enables man to resist trials no matter the physical appearance (Psalm 51, Nehemiah 8:10)
Romans 14:7, informs us that the Kingdom of God is not drinking and eating but righteousness, Peace and Joy in the Holy Spirit. Therefore, if you are to
overcome this accuser you must accept to be led by the spirit.
Another fruit of the spirit is patience (Psalms 40:1) I waited patiently for
Jehovah; And he inclined unto me, and heard my cry. He brought me up also out of a horrible pit, out of the miry clay; And he set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings.
In most cases, Christians have not embraced this fruit however it’s always better for one to be patient with God because that is how man can win or overcome the snares of the devil.
Excitement is brought by the devil who desires much for a man to fall into his trap.
1 John 4:4 cautions that you are from God therefore he who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. This gives us the formula for how we can overcome the devil by having faith in that one who is in us (Jesus)
To overcome this accuser, first, surrender your heart to God so that He takes control of you.
Secondly, don’t let Satan take over your mind by accepting his condemnations because he is the accuser. To be against the Devil and all his works is another way to say that we are now in Christ. So we should act like Christ.
We can act like Christ by a sort of imitation when we denounce the devil’s works remember 1 John 3:8 informs us that whoever makes a practice of sinning is of the devil, for the devil has been sinning from the beginning.
The devil sins, and we do his work when we sin. Being against the devil is being against sin since the devil tempts us to sin.
Thirdly you must be sober-minded and watchful, since your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. (1 Pet 5:8)
